Change Your Direction

No matter where you go, there you are. Finding peace within yourself doesn't have to be a road that you walk alone. Let me help.

I specialize in helping clients navigate grief, depression, and trauma related to identity, relationships, and life transitions. In our initial sessions, we'll explore the challenges you're facing and collaborate on a personalized plan to help you regain control and find healing. Many of my clients experience meaningful progress within the first month, with lasting, positive changes over time.

My approach is collaborative and rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Together, we’ll explore the connection between your mind, body, and relationships to better understand your experiences and create meaningful change. I draw on a whole‑person perspective — blending emotional, physical, and relational insights — to help you build resilience, heal, and strengthen your connections with others.

North Star Counseling

Life can feel especially heavy when you’re moving through grief, questioning your identity, or navigating a significant life change. It can bring up loneliness, confusion, or the sense that you’re supposed to “have it all figured out.” You don’t have to go through this on your own. I work with all people who are carrying intense emotions, navigating transitions, or seeking to reconnect with themselves. My goal is to offer you a safe, affirming space where you can show up exactly as you are—messy, uncertain, hopeful, or somewhere in between. You deserve unconditional acceptance as you heal and grow.

I’m not the kind of therapist who nods and takes notes. I’ll show up with warmth, curiosity, and real presence. Together, we’ll explore your story, strengths, and the parts of yourself you’re still getting to know. I draw from different approaches—like relational therapy, mindfulness, and narrative work—but always tailor them to what feels right for you.

I don’t just understand grief, identity, and life transitions from a clinical perspective—I’ve lived them, too. My own experiences with loss, self-discovery, and change shape the way I show up as a therapist. I know how isolating it can feel, and I also know that healing and growth are possible when you don’t have to walk through it alone.

I have over 25 years of experience helping adults, teens, and families in crisis. I'm licensed in both WA and MI and hold additional certification in trauma-informed therapy. I was a Professor for 20 plus years, teaching clinical social work, psychopathology, and clinical modalities.
